SVPUA&T holds International Academic Interaction under the Centre for International Relations (CIR)
The Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology (SVPUA&T), Meerut marked a significant milestone toward global academic engagement by organizing an international academic interaction with faculty members from Japan under the aegis of its newly established Centre for International Relations (CIR).
The programme was chaired by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Triveni Dutt, and was attended by Deans, Directors, faculty members, and PG and Ph.D. scholars of the University. The distinguished guest speakers included Matsuno Yutaka, Professor of Environmental Management, College of Agriculture, Kindai University, and Noda Keigi, Professor of Biological & Environmental Engineering. The event was coordinated by Dr. Pushpendra Singh, Associate Professor & Compliance Officer, Study in India (SII) Programme.

In his welcome address, Prof. Triveni Dutt highlighted the academic excellence, research achievements, and extension strengths of SVPUAT and expressed keen interest in fostering collaborative partnerships with leading Japanese universities.
Prof. Matsuno and Prof. Noda delivered insightful lectures on advanced water resource management strategies, precision agriculture technologies, and AI-driven innovations for sustainable farming systems. They emphasized the transformative role of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in agriculture and water management, particularly the applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) in enhancing productivity and sustainability.

The visiting professors expressed strong interest in establishing joint academic and research collaborations in the near future. The Hon’ble Vice Chancellor conveyed optimism that this interaction would pave the way for long-term collaboration between SVPUAT, The University of Tokyo, and Kindai University, thereby strengthening the University’s global footprint in alignment with the objectives of the National Education Policy 2020.
Prof. Dr. Pushpendra Kumar, Director, Centre for International Relations, proposed the initiation of a twinning programme in agriculture and technology with these universities. He also suggested onboarding the distinguished faculty as adjunct/visiting professors, alongside faculty and student exchange programmes.
Dr. Harsh Panwar, Associate Director, CIR, delivered the vote of thanks and expressed gratitude to the esteemed guests and participants, reaffirming the University’s commitment to international academic excellence and global collaboration.
